Casting Spells
In order for a mage to cast their spell, first they must observe in the spell listing what type of spell that it is, laid out below:
Instant Cast: Spells that require a single check to trigger the action of the spell. The materials created from this spell will generally dematerialize after they have done their purpose.
Sustained: Spells that have sustained effects after they are initially triggered, until canceled by the user.
Channeling: Spells that require sustained usage of delay over the course of many turns. If the caster fails any of the subsequent rolls, the channeling ends for the turn.
Innate: A spell that requires no check and is done at will.
Each of these types will then have their own unique way of being cast and their own unique drawbacks and strengths. Some mages will tend to have many more spells of one type than another, some will be more diversified. Note that all damage inflicted by a mage adds their magic modifier to the damage.
