Crafting Steps

62a. Crafting

Even though the different crafting skills in Nyra differ greatly and the materials they value in the creation of their items differ too, the flow for item creation in all of these cases still has common elements. That creation flow is outlined below:

1) Decide what item to craft. Locate its default stats in the appropriate section of the guide (80b. Weapons and 80c. Armor for example).

2) Decide what material will be used to craft it (See: 62b. Crafting Components). Add those numbers to the default stats from the previous step.

Note: Pay attention to whether the numbers being added benefit the item. For example: positive numbers are bad for armor because armor is recorded with negative numbers (more negative means more damage resistance), but positive numbers are good for weapons (more positive means more damage dealt).

3) Roll to determine quality of item (as stipulated by the listed scale in 62. Professions). Add those numbers to the previous results. If traits or flaws were added, apply them from the list of allowed traits and flaws for your rank.

After all this has been done, the item is complete.

Therefore, to determine item outcome:

(Default item stats) + (Material alterations) + (Crafting bonuses or decrements) = (Finished item)
