The race of merchants who populate the cities of Quein'Malanthas and Korrid'Malanthas. They appear to be humanoids with the features of goats. They have horns of various sorts (ie: looking like ram's horns or gazelles or whatever else). The Ethakkra as a whole, with a noticeable exception to the highborn in the noble community of the Humans, are considered; swindlers, thieves, liars, cheats, backstabbers, and murderers. However, among Human merchants, the Ethakkra have proven to be stable and reliable traders with which the huge spore trade takes place.

There are, in total four different sectors of Ethakkran society. They are represented by two sects in two classes of the Ethakkran society. In the commoners there are the Giordi and Malthuse.

The Malthuse (meaning "Wordworker") are those Ethakkra that focus their lives upon the buying and selling of things, as well as their transport and distribution. They are responsible for most of the on the valuable and monopolized Goda Spore. A great number of the stereotypes and archetypes of the Ethakkran merchant are based on the Malthuse.

The Giordi (meaning "Handworker") are the suppliers, harvesters, and workers of Ethakkran society. They harvest the Goda spore, they build houses, they function as the hands and feet of the Ethakkran community, and as is naturally assumed, are the largest body of the Ethakkra. Few Malthuse ever leave the Ethakkran village communities, opting for a simpler life among their brethren.

Of the lords, there are two sects: the highborn and the lowborn.

The lowborn are the various Malthuse who have succeeded so brilliantly at their careers as traders or diplomats or whatever else, that they are now considered among the lords. These are the aspirational figures of the Ethakkra society, being depicted in many creative works as the heroes of the story or the endpoint for a hero's journey. They have carried out deeds which bring them to light in the elitist highborn community. For this reason, the Malthuse are often viewed as a sort of proving grounds to becoming lowborn.

The highborn are old and extremely wealthy families, though not all of them started there. The highborn occupy nearly all positions of administration, lawmaking, and rulership broadly. One may be considered highborn when their power is no longer in question, that they have vested control over significant resources and, as such, cannot be simply bullied out of negotiations or ignored. To be considered highborn by other highborn, figures must be highly connected, proud and boastful, and have large amounts of money, preferably made from trade that facilitated large loss on the opposite side of said trade.
